Am I eligible to vote in Florida?

To vote in Florida elections, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen

  • Be a resident of Florida and of the county in which you wish to vote

  • Be 18 years of age or older

When is Florida's voter registration deadline?

Your application must be at least on its way to an official voter registration agency no later than 29 days prior to Election Day.

How do I request an absentee ballot in Florida?

You can request an absentee ballot if you:

  • Will not be able to make it to the polling place on Election Day due to unavoidable circumstances

  • Have an injury, disability, or illness that prevents you from voting at your polling place

  • Are serving in the military away from your polling place, or are a spouse or family member of such a person

  • Are a Florida resident temporarily living outside the United States

Your local Supervisor of Elections can provide an absentee ballot, which can be requested via mail, email, fax, phone, or in person. You will be asked to provide your name, address, date of birth, and signature if you request a ballot by mail.

What special accommodations are available?

Each of Florida's polling places accommodates voters with disabilities, including ramps and elevators. Voters can use a machine that casts their vote via a touchscreen, dial, or mechanical button.

You can get help voting from a friend or neighbor, or from an election official. The person helping you cannot be your employer or an officer or agency of your labor union.
