Midterm Election 2018
OneVote understands that decisions are made by those who show up. We want to help people & families who live with disability as well as those who care about disability issues to know the views of candidates for Federal and State Office on those issues. Unlike years where the President is being elected, 2018 would be consider a “Midterm Election” year, because these elections are taking place in the middle of a Presidential term. These election years tend to focus more on Congressional, Senate and State-wide races like Governor and/or state legislatures.
Voting percentages are historically lower in midterm years than Presidential election years, which means every vote in a midterm election has a opportunity to play a bigger role in deciding which candidates get elected and which ballot initiatives pass, because there are fewer votes to go around. We will be updating this page throughout the election with Primary, Early Voting, and General Election dates as well as candidate information related to disability issues. We also encourage you to visit the sites of our partners, RespectAbility, and AAPD for additional coverage of the 2018 Midterm Election.
